I got a telephone call last week from a mom in dire need of "mom cards".
And I said "huh?"
She went on to explain that she is forever giving out her name and address to other mothers and needs a card that holds all of her info along with her kids names so that she could stop the madness of writing things down on a napkin! I know that I have seen mom cards on other site but I guess I never thought that there was a huge market for it! Well, I was wrong! I am now introducing the new "Mom (/nanny/grandma) Cards" by Ashley Brooke Designs!
..............................................................................................................
** I looked up Social Cards under the Emily Post's Etiquette 17th edition book and this is what she has to say on the subject:
In the last few years, social cards have begun to replace business cards for
personal use. And it's about time: The days of scrawling your home phone number
on a business card or matchbook cover can't fade away too soon. Although
social cards serve some of the same purpose es they did in a earlier era, they
are flexible enough in use and designs to reflect your personality. You
can have virtually anything printed on a social card, so long as it is in good
taste. The cards are generally used in three ways:
- As Personal Cards
- As Visiting Cards
- As Gift enclosures

Oh, Ashley those are darling. I guess since my {children} are 25 and almost 30 it is too late for me to use Mom Cards! haha I wish we had had those when mine were little!!
What a fantastic idea! I wish I had had a card like this when my son was a tot - he's 21 now so I don't make play dates for him anymore! Ha!! Even though my Mom-Duties have decreased, I can still see a need for a card like this... for example, when at the dog park where you're simply known as "Rover's Mom".
I hope you take this idea far!

simply adorable! i had some "calling cards" made up right before i joined junior league ... slightly more classy than pulling out the blackberry and saying "whats your number"
like your designs
