RSVP Etiquette

RSVP-ing is super important! If you have ever hosted a party, shower, or any event for that matter then you've most likely dealt with the ups and downs of RSVPs. RSVP-ing is important for many reasons, but the one that sticks out the most is food. There is no possible way to know how to prepare food if you've sent out 50 invitations and have heard back from five of the guests. That's not even saying that all five are a yes! This is super important because the host is now left with the decision to make or cater a small dinner, brunch, etc. or to go ahead and plan for the other 45 to show up. So here's the deal, RSVP! It doesn't take a lot of effort, and it truly does make a difference. Worst case scenario you forget -call right before the event, honestly it isn't ideal, but its better to call ahead than to show up UNannounced.

RSVPing really is a MUST! It drives me crazy when you put all this work in to a party and people 'forget' to tell you they are coming. It is extremely rude!

I'm with you and Kappa Prep. It's a must. It's my pet peeve when people don't take the time to let you know if they are coming or not!

I totally agree. I just sent out inviations to 9 children for my 5 year olds birthday party. Only 2 have bothered to respond. I dont know if that means they rest are coming if they dont call. Now I have to make gift bags for all 9 because I have no idea who is coming. I dont know if I should call them to just make sure they got the invitation. I know this is not ideal but I want to know. If they are rude to me to not respond then I can be rude to get an answer. What do you think?
