The Holiday Office Party

A lot of companies throw holiday parties for their employees this time of year.  Whether the party is thrown by your company or you are accompanying your spouse or significant other to their party, there are certain standards of behavior.

-Don't ignore the invitation to the party.  Not going could affect your reputation

-While you should enjoy the party, be aware that people are probably watching you and you should remember that this does fall under a business event

-Determine if the dress for the party is dressy or casual and plan appropriately.  The office party is not the time for anything too tight or revealing.

-Eat and drink in moderation.  Becoming drunk is in no way appropriate and you also don't want to pile your plate to the sky.

-Avoid talking shop all night.  Keep conversation upbeat and use this as an opportunity to learn more about your colleagues.

words of wisdome indeed. I've been to one too many office parties where I saw a little too much skin and a tad too much inebriation! words well spoken.. xo
