The Oh-So-Lovely Elisabeth Rohm contacted me a few weeks back with a VERY special project! Her sweet little girl Easton is turning two and was in dire need of the perfect invitation! We chatted on the phone for a bit and once we hung up, I went right to work!

While we were chatting Elisabeth told me that the party was going to be super fun with balloons, music teachers, animals, etc. but they also wanted their "grown up friends" to have a blast as well! I think the invitation reflects all of that and more!! I am SO in love with the finished look!!

The lovely Cara contacted me in need of something super unique for her friend Erin, whose wedding was just around the corner! Cara was throwing her a lingerie shower and needed invites and thank you notes! She also wanted to include the famous Philadelphia LOVE statue! I just love the way this look came together! And the shimmer envelopes and liners add that extra little pop!

Bridal Shower Invitation

This Sunday is my second bridal shower and I'm so excited. I feel so fortunate to have such wonderful family friends who have been sweet enough to want to celebrate with me! One of my oldest friends, Jillian, and her mom are kindly throwing a brunch shower for me and of course they had me do the invitations which I just LOVE! Hope you like them too :)

My Wedding Invitations

Designing my wedding invitations was truly a labor of love. Designing for myself was challenging but I think that what was ultimately created is a perfect expression of Me, Manolo and the feeling we want our wedding day to have.

Wedding Shower Invitations

I designed these wedding shower invitations for a good friend on mine earlier this month. We decided we would do a kitchen theme since the bride loves to cook! I found out her kitchen colors and started designing! The invitation suite included the invitations, thank you cards, a recipe box, and matching recipe cards. Everyone loved it!

The Invitation

Each invite had a recipe card inside! The guest filled out the card with their favorite dish and brought it along with them to the shower.

Wedding Invitation Etiquette

Mistakes to Avoid When Sending Out Wedding Invitations.

1. Spelling errors or address errors

2. Any mention of gifts ("no gifts, please" is also not appropriate).

3. Mentioning, "no children or adults only" if you don't want them there don't address the invitation to the family.

4. No dress notations except if the reception and ceremony invitation are one combined. Then it is acceptable to mention "black tie or white tie".

5. References to food or alcohol, those choices are for the reply cards.

These are the basic elements of any invitation:

1. Hostess name

2. What you are celebrating (birthday, shower, baby, ect.)

3. Time and location

4. RSVP either a date to RSVP by, or Regrets only is also acceptable.

5. Include any extra information that wouldn't be already assumed

(black tie, parking directions, map, what to bring, ect.)

Invitation Dress: Part 2

Here is the second part of the "Invitation Dress" post.

Festive Attire

Men: Slacks, seasonal sport coat or blazer in color of choice, open collar shirt, or perhaps a holiday-theme tie.

Women: Short cocktail dress or long, dressy skirt and top or dressy pants outfit.

Dressy Casual

Men: Slacks, seasonal sport coat or blazer, open-collar shirt

Women: Street-length dress, skirt and nice top, or dressy pants outfit

Business Casual

Men: Khakis or slacks, seasonal sport coat or blazer, open-collar shirt

Women: Khakis or slacks, skirt, open-collar shirt or knit shirt, sweater

Sport Casual

Men: Khakis or jeans; nice tee, polo, or casual button-down shirt

Women: Khakis or jeans; nice tee, polo, or casual button- down shirt

Beach Casual

Men: Khakis or shorts (cargo or Bermuda), Knit shirt, sport jacket optional

Women: Sundress or khakis or shorts (cargo or Bermuda), open-collar shirt or knit shirt, lightweight jacket or sweater

Holiday Casual

Invitation Dress: Part.1

Every once in a while you will receive an invitation that requests a certain type of attire to be worn. Sometimes the dress requested is so confusing that you end up wearing the wrong thing entirely, example: what in the world is "Creative Black Tie"?

Well, worry no more, I have found the answers!

White Tie

Men: Black tailcoat, matching trousers, stiff white winged collard shirt, white vest, white bow tie, white or gray gloves, and black dress socks.

Women: Formal evening gown

Black Tie

Men: Black tuxedo jacket, stiff white collard shirt, black cummerbund, black bow tie, dressy suspenders (optional), and black dress socks.

Women: Formal evening dress or short, dressy cocktail dress

Black Tie Optional

Man: Either a tuxedo ("Black Tie" above) or dark suit with white shirt, conservative tie.

Women: formal evening dress; short, dressy cocktail dress or dressy separates.

Creative Black Tie

Man: Tuxedo combined with trendy or whimsical items, such as a black shirt or a matching colored or patterned bow tie and cummerbund; black patent or dressy black leather shoes and black dress socks.

Women: Formal evening gown, dressy cocktail dress or dressy separates; with accessories.

Semiformal

Men: Dark, dressy business-type suite, with or without a matching vest, white shirt, conservative ties; dressy leather shoes and dress socks.

Women: short afternoon or cocktail dress or long, dressy skirt and top.
