Which hand to use when sneezing and coughing

I am doing this post strictly for my sister
who is a Germaphobe and would like everyone to
know the correct way to sneeze or cough!
So here you go:
When sneezing or coughing use your left hand to cover you face.
keeping your right hand clean and sanitary for
shaking hands, opening doors, etc.
and of course... wash your hands often!

As a nurse I would reccomend just turning your head and sneezing into your upper arm. I know this may sound and look funny but it is the most hygenic thing to do. Handwashing is the number one way to prevent the transmission of germs but sadly not everyone washes their hands enough.

I think ky would just prefer if everyone refrained from coughing and sneezing altogether :) but great tips! I sneeze in my upper arm...

I heard we're supposed to sneeze into our shoulders also, less germs!

I open up my t- shirt top if I am wearing one which I usually am and sneeze or cough inside to keep both hands free and clean.

Use the crook of your arm, left or right--it keeps your hands more free of germs, and also keeps you from bringing your dirty hands into contact with your face.
